Pelucas y Tacones is turning 10 years old on Saturday September 26th after an incredible year which has seen us collaborating with Almodovar’s West End musical adaptation of ‘Women On The Verge’, as well as winning the Latin UK Award (LUKAS) for ‘Clubnight Of The Year’.

A lot has happened since our beginnings a decade ago at First Out Café: 10 cities, 3 countries, 17 venues, 27 acts, 4 festivals and over 60 parties and countless friendships; and this is what we will be celebrating with you, a new bigger venue (The Archway Tavern), longer hours and an artist line up to die for.

Celebrating old and new Spanish kitsch, we’ve invited two of the most iconic figures in the scene to help us blow the candles. Straight from Mallorca, after years of conversations, PYT welcomes the one and only Pepa Charro, Spanish actress and ‘chica Almodovar’ better known as LA TERREMOTO DE ALCORCON who conquered the world with her outrageously funny Spanish covers of Madonna’s ‘Hung Up’, Britney’s ‘Work Bitch’ and her own productions, some accounting as anthems for gay pride celebrations in Madrid. She is a real tour-de-force and conquers every stage she steps on. It is a rare opportunity to see this ex-londoner return to UK soil to perform as she is currently filming with Almodovar and touring Spain with the international smash hit theater production ‘The Hole’.

On the newest side of things, PYT welcomes the best thing to happen to the scene in recent years, the ubiquitous and super popular duo responsible for coining the term ‘electro-disgusting’ and for the European anthem ‘HDA’ which has seen them tour crazily over the last few months. From Barcelona and on their UK Debut : LAS BISTECS.

Celebrating history as we are, the dress code will be as open as this can go: ‘art history / museum odyssey’… ever wanted to be admired as a creation like Mona Lisa, bring over some sunflowers or scare people with a ‘Scream’ … Or would you rather turn up as a mighty creator like Dali, Warhol, Basquiat, Frida, Van Gogh (ears on please) or even pose all night like your favorite sculpture? Frame yourself, costumise yourself to reflect an artistic current.. options are endless and your effort will be compensated with prizes on the night.

Here’s to another 10!
