Pelucas y Tacones brings Ocaña (Ventura Pons, 1978) to UK audiences.

London based Spanish LGBT party Pelucas y Tacones (Wigs and High Heels) and Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest team up to offer a one-off special double feature, proudly presenting a joint screening and party.

The screening (Ocaña, Retrato Intermitente) is the timeless and provocative portrait of Jose Ocaña, an artist who narrates his challenging upbringing in a small town near Sevilla during Franco's regime and his posterior move to Barcelona in the late 70's where he unadvertedly became a pivotal figure in the fight against discrimination and the social dangerousness law through his activism, art and street performances. Filmed in 1978 it is Ventura Pons' opera prima and remains a relevant and timeless classic. Pons is regarded as one of the most important and prolific queer Spanish film directors of present times on par with Pedro Almodovar.

To celebrate this one off film festival special edition of Pelucas y Tacones the dress code for this very special party will be 'Actress Wannabe'... dress up as your favourite character / actress.

Film Screening: 19:30 Party: 21:00

Book a ticket in advance to guarantee entrance to the screening, or come fashionably late and just pay on the door.
